MON CREIF began slowly, but moved up on the outside with a rush and, drawing away into a good lead while rounding the last turn, was easing up at the end. UNION JACK, showing much speed from the start, was always in closest pursuit and easily disposed of EAGLE BIRD In the last furlong. The latler set a fast early pace, but quit when it came to a drive. GARRY set a fast early pace, but tired finally and just lasted long enough ! to outstay CALIPH. The latter finished fast and gamely under a drive and was wearing the leaders down. IVABEL dashed around on the outside of the leaders on the turn into the backstretch and, taking the lead, raced EMPEROR WILLIAM into defeat in the first five furlongs and, gamely outstaying HERBERT TURNER, won going away. The latter, showing sudden improvement, finished gamely, but his rider was handicapped by losing one of his stirrup irons in the stretch, drive. IDLEWEISS. closed a gap and, coming through on the inside, finished with a rush. EMPEROR WILLIAM showed speed, but tired after being in closest pursuit to the stretch. OUTLAN was sore when going to the post and tired after setting the pace to the homestretch. AGNAR ran fairly well. MAROMARA quit after running a good seven eighths.
