AS TO PARIMUTUEL FIELD BETTING When parimutuel betting was established on the Kentucky tracks it was not long until Daily Racing Form was asked whether persons who had elsewhere than at the tracks backed horses that it was sub ¬ sequently discovered had been grouped in the niutneL fields won or not if a field horse won or was placed Iu reply the opinion was advanced that only the backers of such horses in the field as might win or run to a place won backers of unplaced field horsos losing as in book letting The opinion was given after a consultation with such authorities as Tiilci Charles F Price Joseph A Murphy and others Until now this opinion has beoh adhered to K l cause of certain advantages unfairly gained bv im expected interpretations of this opinioS it has been abandoned and hereafter Daily Racin Form will hold that the backers of all horses crm i i T mutuel fields will be entitled to the navmV V mne navm would I aynio they receive at the tracks
