CATESBY WOODFORDS SONADA CH C 3 BY STAR SHOOT JANOWOOD ONE OF THE KENTUCKY DERBY CANDIDATES WITH A GOOD CHANCE Quite a formidable aspirant to Kentucky Derby honors is Mr Catesby Woodfords good Star Shoot colt Sonada He ran a couple of races at Charleston that might well justify one iu thinking otherwise but when brought back to Lexington he mended his ways mightily and in a fast mile there April 30 showed that Hie proper thing to do is to disregard his two Charleston races entirely In his Lexington race he ran a mile in 141 over a slow track and easily prevailed oer Duval Sir Blaise and Wheelwright Since then lie has progressed favorably in training and there are good judges of horse form who deem his Derby chance as good as that of any other probable starter starterSonada Sonada did not make his appearance in racing until last fall at Louisville His first start was in a purse at threequarters of a mile for twoyearolds September 20 This he won in 113 with Sir Blaise second Commoners Touch third and seven more unplaced including G J Longs Free Lance His second race was at the same track October 5 It was a dash of five and a half furlongs and running the distance lu the fast time of 105 he defeated Azyiade by two lengths with Mack B Eubanks third and four others unplaced Then his fortune changed October 14 be ran second to Lady Lightning in the Iroquois Handi ¬ cap at threequarters but had up 118 pounds and ran a good race Ursula Emma Wheelwright Worth and Amon finishing behind him His last race as a twoyearold was in the Fort Thomas Stakes at Latonia November 4 He was topweight and ran unplaced Azyiade winning and running threequarters in 1V127 with Froglegs second and Kaiser third This terminated a creditable twoyearold career one that wiil stand critical inspection His record is now Vear Age Sts 1st 2nd 3rd Unp Won 1011 242101 1205 1912 3 4 1 0 1 2 425 425Totals Totals 8 3 1 I 3 SlBSO
