NOTES OF THE TURF Jack Atkin has six promising twoyearolds at the Lagoon track The colts are the get of Purycar D and Solitaire II IIDr Dr J S Tyree will send a string of five young horses to England for next years racing in charge of the veteran trainer William Oliver OliverAda Ada Meade Dargin Old Mexico Cisko Gyptis Cantern Volladay Jr Phil Connor Philistina Pepperino Lord Kersdalen and other horses have been shipped from Alan to Vancouver for the flfty flva days meeting which will open at the British Columbia track next Saturday SaturdayR R F Brooks who has just severed his connection as trainer with W F Scliultc was In the employ of that Kentucky turfman for seventeen years Among the horses that he developed for Mr Schulto are Zienap Batts Gliding Belle King Olympian Grand Mary Capltan Bravo Flora Pomona Flora Willonghby Zicphen Lyrist Lelta Zara Flora Bright Sister Fonso Slips Sccundus Binhelio Sprung and Maydine MaydineBarney Barney Schreiber passed through Chicago yester ¬ day en route from Hamilton Ont where he laid odds last week for the first time in about two years to his home near Sedalia Mo He will first go to Cincinnati for the two remaining days of the La ¬ tonia meeting Upon arrival at his farm he will arrange for the shipment of some twenty young racers to Lagoon and he probably will follow the consignment west with the idea of disposing of thorn at the Utah track Mr Schreiber is well pleased with his new location in Missouri and is still breed ¬ ing the thoroughbred extensively He feels sure that Jack Atkin will be a success in the stud and declares that Miss Marions foal by that sire is the finest looking suckling in Kentucky
