MARTIN NATHANSON IN ILL HEALTH WellKnown Official Tenders His Resignation to Management of Butte Track Butte Mont August 2 Martin Nathansou rac ¬ ing secretary of the Butte Lagoon and Anaconda tracks and also steward representing the Pacific Jockey Club yesterday afternoon mailed his resigna ¬ tion to Manager H 1 Wilson of the tracks named Mr Xathaiison has been in ill health and under a high nervous strain ever since he came west Mr Wilson received a telegram from him toelay to the effect that he is at Glacier Park Mont and will return to take up his duties as soon as his health permits Presiding Judge E C Hopper is acting as handicapper and Dave OConnor who was Mr Xathanspns associate last season serving in the stand with Judge Hopper HopperRacing Racing began this afternoon over a sloppy track as a result of a heavy drenching the course received this morning from a steady downpour that lasted for several hours Later the sun came out bright and clear but the mud runners had an inning inningMissie Missie from the Keene stable won the opening dash for twoyearolds in a great stretch duel with Mollie Uichards an oddson favorite Three favor ¬ ites scored and the remaining purses went to horses at liberal odds
