GOSSIP FROM BLUE BONNETS Montreal Que August 29 Good progress is be ¬ ing made by the horses in training at Blue Bon ¬ nets for the autumn meeting of the Montreal Jockey Club from September 7 to 14 inclusive There are some good steeplechasers at the course G R Tompkins has eleven horses under his care Including Jimmy Lane Bigot Bello Wel shlp King Cash Malamont Lord Ladns and Plan over Wolship and King Cash are two green jump ¬ ers which have shown some ability through the field William Hogan has half a dozen jumpers in his stable the majority of them being locally owned In this lot are Kartlett McLeuuaus Annum Young Morpheus and Buckthoru Harvey Boyle a former steeplechase rider is here with Be Thankful and Pariidc two jumpers owned by J C Palmer of Toronto The latter is a good looking horse horseJohn John Coyle has the horses Ruxton Rice Grain and Bill Andrews owned by Miss Chamblet at the course and is schooling them for the meeting The jumps in the steeplechase course have all been redressed and are now in splendid condition conditionThere There Is a deal of interest in the Kings Plate and the Provincial Nursery Stakes this season Th eligibles for these are going along well and will be fit and ready These two events are more open than since their first running at Blue Bonnets The only one of the Platers that has worked the full distance of a mile and a juarter is Kilom owned by II B MacDougall and trained by Capt W F Presgrave He Worked the distance handily in 210 The others have not been sent over a mile mileThe The twoyearolds have been going the Nursery dis ¬ tance of five furlongs and have worked in about the same notch anywhere from 103 to 105 This is the best lot of Provincebred twoyearolds ever seen at Blue Bonnets There is more quality to them than heretofore There are many Provincebred yearlings that are being broken this fall Capt W F Pres ¬ grave has eleven In his charge locally owned and of a good size sizeThe The stalls are all In readiness for the reception of the horses that will come from Windsor There are over six hundred stalls at Blue Bonnets which will afford ample accommodation for all of the hordes now being raced on the Canadian tracks tracksA A number of Moutrcalers will attend the salo of yearlings to be held in Kentucky during early September with a view of picking up some yearlings and firstclass broodmares
