Racing Season Cincinnati O November 9 The Kentucky racing season terminated this afternoon in brilliant fashion at Latonia with an attendance that almost equaled the best of the season Secretary E W Mugiun provided a program tliat brought into contention nearly every one of the good horses that have par ¬ ticipated Jn Kentucky racing this fall The Latonia Cup at two miles and a quarter wltli its net value to the winner of 2720 and massive silver trophy was the feature and It furnished an interesting contest for the first two miles Thereafter Rudolfo drew away from his opponents to win with great ease The early run ¬ ning was dominated by the veteran High Private with Colonel Ilolloway and Cousin Puss his closest followers The same order was maintained for a mile and threequarters Then the leader began to show signs of tiring Itudolfo at this period was freed from restraint and in in a twinkling he Hashed into the lead Colonel Ilolloway also ap ¬ peared well spent on the stretch turn but continuing gamely disposed of Cousin Puss for second money Star Charter which was expected to he a dangerous contender runningU failed to figure seriously in the running U F Buschemeyers crack twoyearold Haw ¬ thorn was put to a sliarp test during the afternoon when he tried conclusions with an allaged band of speed sprinters carrying a big impost and con ¬ ceding much weight to all Latonia since the installation of the mutuel system of betting In fact all former records for fall meetings hereabouts were shattered during the season just closed The most sanguine expectations of liberal patronage accorded the track Interest In the racing here has been growing stead ¬ ily and it is evident that patrons of the sport are showing an appreciation of the efforts we are mak ¬ ing to provide the best It is the managements Intention to continue its present high policy and plan constant Improvements We will endeavor nest season to bring here all the best horses racing In the country
