WOMAN JOCKEY RIDES A WINNER WINNERHungary Hungary has a fullfledged and regularly licensed woman jockey in the person of Mrs Bnlford i petite matron who asks no odds of the male riders She sits a horse in a decidedly Am rican fashion with the short stirrup and has wonderfully good hands In her races she has demonstrated that she is an excellent judge of pace is alert at the post and has the courage that is necessary for successful riding Mrs Bulford rode her first winner at Budi pest during the meeting of the Hungarian Jockey Club the past October and she promises to ride regularly at all the courses next season seasonMickey Mickey Miles and Willie Shaw two American jockeys who have l een riding in Hungary for several years have had all to do with the adoption of the American style in the saddle and the fair woman rider has patterned her handling of horses after these masters Miles has been under contract to M Eygedi for eight years and the stable contains probably the best colt and the best filly in the coun ¬ try It is agreed now that the colt will bo the choice for the Hungarian Derby next year Willie yearWillie Shaw is under contract to Prince Hohenlohe and like Miles he is in New York on his regular winter vacation He will return to his foreign em ¬ ployer early in March
