F J PONS TO RETIRE AS MANAGER Plans for One Hundred Days Meeting at Charles ¬ ton Beginning December 1 Next Cincinnati O July a VicePresident W F Schulte of the Charleston Fair and Racing Associa ¬ tion returned today from Charleston where he at ¬ tended a meeting of the directors that was held to formulate plans for future racing in that southern city It was decided to begin racing next winter on December 1 and race for one hundred days Ap ¬ plication has been made to the Jockey Club for dates On the suggestion of Francis J Pons he is to be relieved from the management of the plant during the racing period and the affairs will be put In the hands of a governing body consisting of Messrs W F Schulte Fred Auerbach and Cotton The latter is a local business man All matters per ¬ taining to the plant and racing will be in charge of this governing body At tho stockholders meet ¬ ing James Livingston a Charleston business man was added to the board of directors Plans for stakes will be announced shortly and with every one working in harmony It is likely that Charleston will at last experience a successful meeting
