FRIENDS OF RACING GET BUSY Racing men who have remained inactive while attacks have been made on their favorite sport started a movement yesterday to show that there are thousands who wish to have the tracks open All along the avenue leading from the turnstiles to the grandstand there were tables containing a petition to Governor Sulzer showing why the sport should be continued A placard reading If you are interested in racing sign the petition caused nearly every visitor to stop and atlix his signature The lists were kept open under the grandstand all through the racing and before the day ended nearly 10000 persons had signed their names and given business addresses to the plea for the retention of the sport The petitions will be circulated among the business men of the city for about a week and then will be forwarded to the Governor New York Sun
