BRAVE CUNARDER went around the leaders on the outside and, drawing away at the three-eighths post, was being eased up at the finish. ZODIAC made a wide turn when entering the homestretch, but wore GALAXY down and outgamed her for second place. The latter was tiring after racing in closest pursuit to the stretch. TRADE MARK was sharply cut off while rounding the last turn after having made the early pace. The winner, entered for ,000, was bid up to ,505 and bought in. EWALT fenced well, but tired after disposing of OCTOPUS. The latter tired badly in the last quarter after leading most of the way. FLATTER feuced pcorly. Won driving; second and thrid the same. DONALD MACDONALD was off slowly and, after having worked his way up on the outside, went to the front with a rush while rounding the far turn, then was ridden out to retain his advantage. BLACKFORD saved ground all the way and outgamed BARNEGAT in the final drive. BARNEGAT was a forward and persistent contender for the entire race. CADEAU was crowded against the fence at the sixteenth post and fell. ELWAH set the early pace, but bled and was eased up. COLONEL COOK finished fast. ADAMS EXPRESS was saved behind the pacemakers until straightened out in the homestretch, then wore the tiring LOCHIEL down in the final eighth and got up to win in the last stride. LOCHIEL, snd-dn:y improved, was much used in forcing the early pace and tired, but only gave way right at the end. UINGLING ran well, but tired after making a threatening effort on the far turn. FLAMMA closed a big gap In the last quarter. KNIGHT OF UNCAS ran well. IMPRESSION quit after setting the pace to the stretch turn. G. M. MILLER ran a bad race, much below his true form. EDITH INEZ tired and just lasted long enough to outstay PREMIER for third place. The latter finished well. DR. It. L. SWAHENGER was sharply cut off on the turn out of the backstretch after having closed -a big gap. ELSEWHERE showed speed.
