DUQUESNE was favored bv the going and showed much speed, passed .OAKLAND in the first: half, and held INLAN safe in the final drive. INLAN seemed badly beaten after going three-eighths, but came again in the stretch and made a game tinish. OAKLAND set the early pace, hut tired and had to be hard ridden to save third place. MONSTONE showed -the most earlv speed and set the pace to the last eighth, but tired in the linal drive. J. NOLAN was well up all the way. LITTLE BEAN ran a good race. THE WIDOW MOON moved up with a rush after going a quarter, but turned wide into the stretch, losing enough ground by it to cost her the race. KLEBURNE also closed a big gap and would have won but for going wide. THERESA GILL set a fast pace to the stretch and tired. HELIOS showed speed, but quit. LEOCHARES was far back throughout.
