MUD RUNNERS TO THE FORE RAIN FALLS AND HAVRE DE GRACE CARD IS RIDDLED BY SCRATCHES. Holland Stable Wins Penn Selling Stakes with Garl After Withdrawing Trifler and Has to Stand Stiff Runup. Havre de Grace, ld., April 20.— Todays races at Havre de Grace were run during intermit lent showers and over a muddy track. The change in track condition* resulted in numerous withdrawals and small fields went to the post in a majority of the races. The feature race, the Penn Selling Stakes, suffered particularly by scratches, five of the ten carded being absentees. The Holland stable, which was so cooapicously successful on the opening-day of ih- meeting, furnished the winner of this event iii Garl, which won with great ease alter leading all the way. C. C. Stnithsoti. who appears lo have something against the Holland people, was again on hand when the w inner was offered ami bid Hail up from 81,990 to ,00o. at which figure le was retained. Despite the disagreeable weather another large crowd turned out and speculation was brisk. Amcrieus. favorite for the opcacr, was jumped on during the running and badly cut down. The stewards hud S. Wilson, was sold to J. J. Moran. but she raced as the Wilson entry, coupled with Eagle. Jockey Harry Snyder bad his lirst mount today since hi-, injury last fall.
