WHITE METAL began slowly, but steadily Improved his position nnd finished fast and gamely. KEY MAR set a fast pace, but quit after going three-quarters. KUSILA quit and ran a dull race. The latter came uround the leaders on the stretch turn, but was tiring In the final strides. NAPIER ran forwardly throughout, but quit right at the finish. OAKHURST pulled up slightly lame. TRANID was moving up rapidly on the backstretcli when she had to be taken up sharply at the half-mile iiost because of interference. FLITTERGOLD tired after raciug into the lead on the last turn.
