SARATOGA STAKES READY FOR ENTRIES ENTRIESSaratoga Saratoga racing occurs annually at a time when western horses have little or nothing to do in tlo way of racing at home one result l ehig that the Saratoga track is traditionally the one place in the country where the crack horses of the east and the west meet to measure strides On this account it is considered almut as much a western as an eastern track and a place of pleasant re ¬ unions and renewals of acquaintanceships and friendships Moreover there is always good money to be won there as a list of twentyfour stake races now offered by the Saratoga Association for the Improvement of the Ureed of Horses attests This is in addition to a number of rich events already closed The list now on offer will close for entries at midnight of Monday April 2 i and embraces seven events for threeyearolds and over slv for threeyearolds seven for twoyearolds and four for the jumpers such timehonored races as the Saratoga Handicap Saratoga Cup Merchants and Citizens Handicap Travcrs Stakes Alabama Stakes and Flash Stakes appearing along with others eqiiallv popular but of more recent founda ¬ tion The list is printed elsewhere in this issue of Dally Racing Form with the suggestion that it contains all that eouhl ho asked for in the way of inducements to owners to make liberal nomina ¬ tions
