SOME OF THE EPSOM DERBY OUTSIDERS Outsiders talked of in connection with Hie Derby are few indeed I mentioned last week that there is an impression Hint M Edmond Rhine owns a good colt in Florimond which won his only race last summer in France That son of Wild fowler and Belle Flour is also engaged in the Gold Cup at Ascot and in the AllAged Stakes on the last day of the meeting on the Royal Heath Le Molior another of M Blancs Derby colts is likewise In the Gold Clip but their owners al ¬ ternative entry in the AllAged Stakes is the filly Glaeonda II which has shown promise since lier arrival at Newmarket and is by the way also in the Oaks and the Ataianta Stakes at the San do ii Eclipse Meeting Another Derby candidate talked of as possessing outside claims is Mr M FitzGeralds colt Fritzorb better known as the colt by Orhy Glnze Trained by Charles Morton at Letcomhe Regis Fitzorb is a stable companion of Mr J R Joels three Derby colts Sunfir u Jove and Polysiome His form last year was smart for he was only beaten a head at weight for sex at his first appearance in public by Mr Hultonsgood filly Silver Tag and then won three races off the reel His essays wore limited to live furlongs and his smartest performance was proli nlilr vlion IIP defeated the threeyearold Clair voyante by a neck for the Ilalnnker Plate at Goodwood In tne ordinary way according to the scale Clairvoyaute should have given Fitzorb twentytwo pounds after deducting the sex al ¬ lowance but she was lien ten in the attempt to concede him only twelve pounds In the Great Eastern Railway Handicap subsequently Clairvovautu deadheated with Jameson and had Dolahoilu a length and a half behind her On the line thus afforded Fitzorb may be estimated as aliout seven pounds behind Dolnhella in the early autumn Only last week Dolabolla showed herself to be some ¬ thing like twentyone pounds the Inferior of the threeyearold Volta over seven furlongs and from that it is evident that Fitzorb even if one takes his staying for granted must have come on in extraordinary fashion in order to bold anything mure than a remote chance in the Derby Vigi ¬ lant in London Sportsman
