Thompson this year have l»eeii sent into winter quarters with the record of having won collectively more than the aggregate of 00,000. Not since 1910 has any American stable won as much. Of the horses composing the stable only Bronio was actually the property of Mr. Thompson, the others belonging to 11. I*. Whitney. Bronio won .: 30. which, deducted from the stables total, leaves the sum of 0,770 as the winnings of the Whitney horses for the year 1913. The evergreen old gelding. Borrow, heads the stable in money won, as also he does the horses of the year at large, and. Ids age considered, preserved the s|ieed of his younger days to a remarkable degree. At even weights it is probable that of all the horses of the year in racing, only Hoanier was capable of taking his measure, although it is not Impossible that his splendid stablemate, Itegrct. might be able to vanquish them both at weight for age-. In two-year-olds the stable was exceedingly strong with such fine specimens as Dominant. Thunderer. Bronio. Begina. Slipshod aud Chicle standing out with the promise of composing a great three-year-old division in the racing of 1910. To these will then lie added the reputed crack of the stable, Emden, end the English colt, Clapperbtll. which for anything any one knows, may have been absolutely the best ! two-year-old in England this year. People in this country have not as yet seen Harmonlcon in anything like his form in England. That pleasure may be in store for next year.
