OFFICIAL TIMER M. M. ALLEN RETIRES New York. June 13.— M. M. AIL n. wl o hist year and during the first part of the present season served as official timer at the New York tracks, has resigned and John Odom. elder brother of George Mom. has been appointed his successor. Mr. Allens resignation was directly due to an injury sustained last arhetar, arhaa he slipped ami fell on the ice. It was thought for a time that he would never In-able to walk again, but this spring he had so far recovered that he again resumed his duties as timer. Recently his general health began to fail and he found it necessary to retire from active service.
