■ t f s s [J ? t t il ii s HOTEL PREPARING FOR SPA RACING — Grand Union and States Will Open Latter Part of the Month — Track in Fine Condition. , New York. June 17. — From present indications Saratoga is hooked for an early and lengthy season. It is not usually customary to open the tirand Inioii 1 Hotel until early in July, but this year the manage- inent has decided to open that hostelry on Saturday. June 22. The States will also open shortly after-s ward. This early opening signifies that applicants ; for accommodations are getting early reservations 1 so as to be comfortably housed in time for the full 1 months racing at the "Spa. That the reconstructed track at Saratoga, which i has been practically turned over, will suit horsemen. is the opinion of Richard T. Wilson, president of the • Saratoga Kacing Association, also of such an ex|MTt as J. din E. Madden. The latter descrilies the course as Ix-ing a wonderful achievement, and one that t does great credit to Billy Myers, who has charge ■ of the course. Mr. Myers says that it will lie safe. or. as he aptly puts it. "a safe and sane course — one that will protect the horses, dry out quickly, , and give general satisfaction."
