B RADLEY RSrERS NOT SUCCESSFUT Kentuckian Has Some Fine Racing Material but Luck Is Wot With Them in East Xew York September 13 Edward It Bradley has gone back to Kentucky empty handed notwith ¬ standing he brought the strongest stable that came on from the west after the windup of the Kentucky meetings to Saratoga in midJuly And lie had to go home without realizing his ambition to start his Cincinnati Trophy winner Batter Cake a daughter of Buckwheat and his own homebred colt Believe Me Girls in the Futurity at Belmont Park Patter Cake came east during the torrid spell of July and she did not recover from the smothering effects of her confinement in the cars en route routeBelieve Believe Me Girls struck himself while playing in his box and had to be thrown out of training But this mishap did not befall Believe Me Girls until after the son of Helmet and Love Not had been brought to Xew York from Saratoga to be trained un for the Futurity That Believe Me Girls would have had a royal chance in the Futurity Mr Brad ¬ ley is certain He trained splendidly toward the end of August and although the public is inclined to the opinion that Batter Cake is the better youngster the star juvenile of the Bradley stable in fact Mr Bradley says that Believe Me Girls can beat the foreignbred filly doing anything And anythingAnd the master of Idle Hour Farm is by no means sorrv that such is the case Batter Cake is an English filly the product of another mans stud although her dam is at Idle Hour He bred Believe Me Girls himself Moreover Believe Me Girls is a son of the Disguise St Mildred stallion Helmet which ISradley is determined to make Helmet is from the St Simon mare which produced Knight Errant the daddy of Boamer Helmet was a tfo yearold contemporary of Sir Martin of Maskette and of Fitz Hcrlwrt He won the Hopeful for the late James It Keene in 190S Spued was Helmets forte when he raced and he transmitted it in fine measure Julialcon Believe Me Girls Fannie Mohan and many another horse claiming Helmet for sire have proved that they can run Believe Me Girls ISradley believes is going to prove that the son of Disguise is as worthy a stock horse as any of the descendants of Domino DominoBELIEVE BELIEVE HE GIRLS GOOD YOUNGSTER YOUNGSTERBelieve Believe Me Girls is a youngster of good size and Ioiie and fine balance and with his great turn of speed lie lias perfect action One of the reasons Mr Bradlev will make no further effort to train Believe Me Girls this year is that he wants to give the colt a chance to show that he can travel over a big distance of ground by winning one of next years Derbvs The dam of Believe Me Girls Love Xot was by Voter True Love she a daughter of Commando and Citronella she by St Simon Love Not and the late Schuyler L Parsons fast mare Tranid arc sisters sistersLove Love Not might have won the Futurity of 1910 the first run at Saratoga which was taken by S C llildreths great Kingston colt Novelty if she had had better track manners She had the necessary speed but she wasted her strength by an unauthor ¬ ized spin of a half mile before the start Never ¬ theless she showed Novelty and Bashti the way to the last eighth pust in the actual running of the race and put both to a drive Love Not has been a successful producer producerMr Mr Bradley did not take the sprinter Kalitan back to Kentucky with him Kalitan is to be sold at auction some time in the course of the Jamaica or the Aqueduct meeting He a sou of Key Hindoo is u first rate horse He won the Preakness Stakes a couple of years back from AI M Dick which afterward won the Latonia Derby under the new name of Liberty Loan and last spring there was no sprinter about New York that could take liberties with him As a weight carrier lie ranked with Poly melian and Old Koeuig
