EVERYTHING SERENE AT NEW ORLEANS All Opposition to Winter Racing Disappears No Conflict Over Dates Arrange Stake Program Xew Orleans La October 1 With the arrival of Jos A Murphy plans for winter racing in Xew Orleans were given a great impetus and it is expected that within a few days both Jefferson Park and the Fair Grounds will announce their stake programs programsThe The armistice which was declared between Charles AAeinberger who was opposing racing next winter and the Racing Association is taken to mean there will be no further agitation against the sport The outlook seems brighter than it has been since the sport of kings was revived here hereAnother Another thing which has practically been settled is the question of dates At first rumor was rife that there would be a disagreement between the two tracks over a split in the racing dates and it was even hinted there might arise a situation in which the tracks would attempt to run simul ¬ taneously But there is no danger of a conflict now and unless the Business Mens Racing Asso ¬ ciation decide to concede a few of its days to Jefferson Park the latter track will go along merrily witli its twentyeight day meeting from Thanksgiving day to January 1 without offering trouble troubleThe The class of horses here this coming winter will eclipse any since the reestablishment of the sport several years ago This is assured by the presence of such turfmen as Sum Hildreth Jeffsrson Living ton E It Bradley W R Coe J H Rosseter T C calibreAA McDowell and many others of that calibre AA 0 AVeant has already arrived with twelve horses and Al Clopton is on the way with twelve more moreThe The purses at Jefferson Park will be much more liberal than last year and the Jefferson Park officials also are planning several rich stakes Work has been started on both tracks and Manager Rouprich of Jefferson expects to have tills newest course lightning fast for the opening of the season Jefferson Park was pronounced the most sanely constructed track in the country by turf experts last year and the fact that during the twentyeight days season not a Jockey was unseated and not a horse stumbled proves the safety of the track There was not a breakdown during the meeting nor an accident or any kind in fact old horses and horses with bad legs and feet sueuiuil rejuvenated aud run to their best form
