ANCESTRY OF THREE FAST YOUNGSTERS YOUNGSTERSBrookholt Brookholt Cotton Blossom and Hoodwink All De ¬ scended from Castleton Stud Breeding Three twoyearolds which have created some stir in racing recently are the colts Brookholt and Hoodwink and the filly Cotton Blossom It is wortli notice that on the paternal side all of these speedy young horses trace back to the splendid Castleton Stud of the late James K Keene which is still a potent and pervading influence in Ameri ¬ can breeding Brookholt won his only race like a real race horse and some fine fairy stories of the price John E Madden lias received or is to receive for him have been given publicity Cotton Blossom is a fast filly and another testimonial to the probability of Luke McLuke becoming a highly suc ¬ cessful stallion There is no reason why he uhould not He was an extraordinary race horse and his breeding is of the best Last year his yearlings sold cheaply at Saratoga but a different tale will be told when lie has sent a few more like Cotton Blossom to the races Hoodwinks dam is a young English mare and his breeding is unusual in this country The three pedigrees are presented here
