BARKLIE, in close pursuit of the leader from the start, gained slowly when called on and, taking the lead at the last fence, drew away, but was ridden out at the finish. HIBLEK, after being saved under steady restraint, took the lead with a rush at the thirteenth jump and held on gamely, in the final drire. DOLEFUL set the pace all the way and drew clear when straightened out in the stretch, but frequently swerved to the outer rail, causing interference, for which he was disqualified. SNAPDRAGON II., running in greatly improved form, closed up steadily under punishment iu the stretch and was wearing DOLEFUL down in the closing strides. SASIN began slowly, but closed a big gap and finished fast. FREDERICK THE GREAT showed speed for three-quarters, but tired as if short. HOLLISTER met witli slight interference in the early running, but saved ground on all the turns and finished gamely through the last eighth. PANAMAN was a forward contender all the way, but tired in the last eighth. JACK STUART was shuttled back when entering the stretch. BLUE LADDIE was eased up when beaten. GEORGIE raced in nearest pursuit and, finishing fast and under pressure, would have won in another stride. SERVICE STAR met with early interference, but finished gamely when clear and outstayed SAGAMORE in the final drive. The latter ran green. SEA MINT, atvay for-wardly, .was nerer dangerous.
