If he does he will hare to be reckoned with when he goes up the line this coming spring. Fort Churchill has started and won twice. T. Cheek, who has the distinction of being the oldest trainer in the world, saddled his first winner at the meeting when Al Hudson won on Tuesday. Cheek has lM-en raciag here since the track was first built, and during the past four years lie has been at Oriental Park constantly, summering his own horses and also these of other owners who elected to leave some of their racers here rather than ship them back to th e States. Cheek, although !1 years of age. is still an active man. He helps mil ;1 coapM of his burses and cash them out after their races. Cheek is a native of Pennsylvania and has been racing hat HI in the States for many years. He is a most remarkable man and as hale and hearty as a youngster.
