CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF Edward Tribe has been engaged to do the starting at the Deloriniicr meeting which is advertised to begin early in May at Montreal MontrealW W Allison Special Commissioner for the Lon ¬ don Sportsman is of the opinion that Abbotts Trace by Tracery will be dangerous in the English threeyearold events Taking a line through March Along which ran second to Totratenia and which was subsetuently smothered by Abbotts Trace at Aintree there seems to be some ground for Mr Allisons opinion Pruce Lodge is another son of Tracery that has shown well this spring Richard Orr one of the best known handicappors in England died recently He made his first handi ¬ cap in connection with the Xewcastle autumn meet ¬ ing in IMJii He was at one time master of the South Durham foxhounds hunting the pack for three years When at Harrow he was the leader with the Harriers and champion at the high jump and over the hurdles At Oxford he held the record for three miles walking M minutes 40 sec ¬ onds and in addition rowed in the famous Halliol eight
