FOUR STRAIGHT FOR MIDNIGHT SUN When He finishes First in Advance Handicap at Hamilton Paul Weidel Runs Unplaced HAMILTON Ontario June 30 Midnight Sun carrying the colors of J It Skinker scored his fourth consecutive victory in the Advance Handi ¬ cap at threequarters which featured the card at the Hamilton Jockey Club track this afternoon Estero finished second to the Peep oDay gelding and St Quentin saved third place Paul Weidel backed into favoritism because of his easy victory in the Hamilton Derby was unplaced Simpson took Midnight Sun to the lead at once and rushed him along at a lively pace through the first half mile while Paul Weidel followed closest in pur ¬ suit and for a moment poked his head out in front of the winner The favorite was unequal to con ¬ ceding eight pounds by the scale to Midnight Sun and began to tire when the field straightened away for the drive home Midnight Sun was severely punished throughout the last eighth and held on gamely to withstand a challenge from Estero The latter encountered much interference and had to come around on the outside to get a clear course and might have won with good luck luckSnapdragon Snapdragon II a recent arrival from New York and running in the colors of his new owner E J Crawford for the first time beat a good band of milers in the Military Handicap which divided in ¬ terest with tin Advance Handicap Snapdragon II was ridden by Obert and saved to the stretcli turn where he moved up and passing the leaders in the stretch drew away into an easy lead at the fin ¬ ish ishJockey Jockey F Coltiletti under contract to S A Clopton arrived from New York this morning He will return to Aqueduct tonight and after a few days sojourn there will depart for Kentucky to ride some of the II P Whitney horses horsesII II G Bedwell has arranged to turn over Welsh ¬ mans Folly to the Canadian division of the J K L Ross stable which is in charge of Fred Schelke SchelkeCyrus Cyrus Field Clark trainer of the J H Loucheim horses is in receipt of a telegram from Colonel Lit the Philadelphia merchant congratulating him on the victory of the horse named in his honor K x ici fer s Iiorses wiir be ililpped back here at the end of the Fort Erie meeting to be rested up for the second meeting at this track trackW W C Westmoreland left for Montreal today Before his departure he bought Cousin o Mine from S A Clopton CloptonJ J Heffering this morning bought Prospector from H Neusteter at private terms termsH H Neusteter will split his stable at the end of the Hamilton meeting sending part of them to Devonshire and the remainder to Fort Erie ErieJockey Jockey Stack will accompany the M Lowenstcin stable to Fort Erie Stack has been riding well here hereA A V Thomas has purchased the Canadianbred colt Player from George Cornell CornellE E G Shafer will ship the S A Clopton horses to Fort Erie tomorrow
