KEN1LWORTH OPENS TODAY Tolmie Handicap of 5000 Added Inaugural Feature Sunnyland Stable Entry Favorite Favoritefor for Big Race No Purse PurseLess Less Than 1200 WINDSOR Out July 21 The Kenilworth Park Racing Association which is affiliated with the Canadian Racing Associations will begin its sum ¬ mer meeting of seven days tomorrow under most favoralde auspices Never before in the history of racing herealxmts have such crowds been seen in attendance as have witnessed tlie sport at the course of the Windsor Jockey Club during the past week With the public clamoring for their favorite sport denied them for three years on account of war con ¬ ditions it is not difficult to predict a wonderful meeting for Kenilworth Park ParkFour Four stakes each with 5000 added and over ¬ weight purses ranging in value from 1200 to 2000 make up an attractive program that should result in high class racing The stake features are areTolmie Tolmie Handicap 5000 added for threeyear olds and over one mile and an eighth eighthDetroit Detroit City Handicap 5000 added for three yearolds and over one mile and a sixteenth sixteenthWindsor Windsor City Handicap 000 added for three year olds one mile and a sixteenth sixteenthCadillac Cadillac Hotel Handicap 5000 added for two yearolds five and onehalf furlongs The TolmleTlaiTdfcap is Tfie opening feature and a small but select field has Iwen named to contest it The Sunnyland stable entry Irish Kiss and Slippery Elm will probably rule favorite Other starters include Drastic Regalo Snapdragon II Rancher and Wynne wood Ixirge and well matched fields are programmed in the other races promising close and interesting contests contestsThe The parimutuel machines that wore in use at former Kenilworth meetings have been thrown into the scrap pile and in future the system of wagering will be conducted without them The new ma chineless system was tried out at the last meeting at Thorncliffe Park and proved highly successful The speculators will under the new system pur ¬ chase their tickets the same as before but the merry click of the machines will be missing A huge blackboard has been erected in the center of the belling shed and on this will be displayed at intervals during the progress of the betting the amount of money wagered on each horse in the race together with the total Thus the public will gain a fairly accurate line on the odds the horses should pay without going to tlie trouble of making the rounds of the machines as formerly to get the trend of the market In order to provide the proper facili ¬ ties for the speculative public arrangements have been made for a total of fiftyeight ticket sellers and sixtyeight cashiers cashiersThe The vexatious question of how to handle the sit ¬ uation in regard to the difference in value of Ameri can and Canadian money has been overcome by creating two sections in the betting shed One section where nothing but American money will be accepted will have fortyone ticket sellers while the Canadian money section will have seventeen ticket sellers American money tickets can be cashed at fortynine cashiers windows while those who wager with Canadian money will be accommo ¬ dated by nineteen cashiers The American s ectiou will be distinguished by black and white signs while red and white will mark the Canadian sec ¬ tion
