Xewtown Selling Stakes the stellar attraction of todays racing at Jamaica it marked another stake success for the Rancocas Stable trained by S C Hildreth Withdrawals reduced the field to five starters with Valor the outstand ¬ ing choice That he was in fine condition was soon discernible for with the rise of the barrier the son of Ballot dashed into the lead and easily held com ¬ mand throughout Fort Churchill was second and Our Roots third thirdFine Fine weather brought out an unusually large crowd for a Monday The track was fast and the racing interesting interestingJ J J Hallenbecks good mare Salvestra won the second race but she found a worthy opponent in Winneconne and the result was in doubt until the last few strides stridesPastoral Pastoral a daughter of Whisk Broom II Sylvan from the stable of H P Whitney made her initial appearance under colors in the opening dash and won like the good one she seems to be beThe The Fair Play colt Bennington which was sold for j 10000 as
