Prince George Park, Avhere the final meeting of the year Maryland will begin next Saturday, presents a scene of activity both in the training of horses and the last minute details in connection Avith the approaching racing. Never before at this time of the year were the prospects brighter for a race meeting the picturesque course of the Southern Maryland Agricultural Association. Racing secretary Joseph McLennan has prepared a particularly attractive program and as there are plenty of horses here of all ages and class there is eAery probability that the fields Avill be large, even in the handicaps and more pretentious overnight purses, to say nothing of the valuable stake races. For the opening day program the ,000 added Southern Maryland Handicap, for three-year-olds and over, at one mile and a sixteenth, is the stake attraction and as the list of eligibles includes some of the best handicap horses that raced at the recent Pim-lico meeting it AA-ould not be surprising to see a field of one dozen or more strive for this prize. Two other races each of ,000 and four of ,300 complete the inaugural program and the great concourse of people that is sure to be present should Avitness some excellent racing. Track superintendent Richard Pending has the course itself in excellent condition and the rain of last night helped to settle the dust and Avas in every Aay beneficial, coming as it did just at the right time. The ever popular Tippity Witchet is one of the horses that will be seen under colors at Prince George Parle He is in tip top condition. C. A. Stonehams speedy Dry Moon is taking his gallops in a manner that suggests he is eager to run and will be ready for early action. Among some of the prospective starters in Saturdays stake feature are Biinga Buck, Blazes, Paul Jones and all are apparently right on edge for the big race. The Montfort Jones string here in charge of trainer Kay Spence appear in fine fettle, particularly so Rockminister and Surf Rider. The Jones colors Avill undoubtedly seen in the ,000 added opening days race.
