Commission Meets This Week on MarylandSport MarylandSportWill Will Discuss Fall Racing Dates For Minor Courses at Session SessionBALTIMORE BALTIMORE Md May 17 The prob lem of just how racing is to be presented 1 in Maryland this fall what are to be the assigned dates for all lour major racing associations and which of the two emer ¬ gency racing measures enacted into law is to be used is scheduled for discussion at a meeting of the Maryland State Racing Commission some time this week weekIt It is also understood summer dates for smaller tracks Bel Air Cumberland Marl ¬ boro and Hagerstown are also to be consid ¬ ered All four minor associations have filed for dates datesAs As matters now stand Maryland has two emergency racing measures One of them known as the House Bill was recently signed by Governor Herbert R OConor The other although unsigned is also legal It automatically became so after expiration of the time limit for the governors signa ¬ ture or rejection rejectionThe The House Bill empowers the commission to transfer race meetings at its discretion It is strictly an emergency measure becom ¬ ing null and void six months after termina ¬ tion of the war Under its provisions the commission could allow any of the four major associations not desiring to hold ses ¬ sions at their own plants to present them at another track Under such conditions it is presumed Havre de Grace would utilize Pimlico and Bowie would hold its meeting meetingContinued Continued on Page TwentyTwo Commission Meets This Week on Maryland Sport SportWill Will Discuss Fall Racing Dates For Minor Courses at Session SessionContinued Continued from Page One Oneat at Laurel Pimlico and Laurel would then present their sessions at their own plants As designated in both emergency racing bills there shall be no more than 50 days of racing at any one track and no more than 100 days of racing throughout the year
