Belmonts Memorial Day Card for War Relief ReliefELMONT ELMONT L I N Y May 23 Following the firactice of the last two years the Westchester Racing Association is turning over Memorial Day traditionally the biggest day of the spring meeting at Belmont Park to Wai Relief This will be the second of the 10 days which the New York tracks are giving to War Relief this year with the National War Fund Inc and the American Red Cross as the chief beneficiaries beneficiariesRacing Racing on that day will be conducted by Belmont Park War Relief Inc with the Westchester Racing Association contributing all facilities The feature of the day will be the fiftyeighth running of the famous Suburban Handicap which this year has been lifted to one of the richest races in America with a purse of 50000 added All net proceeds of the day will be turned over to the charities George D Widener is president George M Francis vicepresident and John J Coakley secretary and treasurer of Belmont Park War Relief Inc
