Buchanan Resigns California I Horse Racing Board Post PostLOS LOS ANGELES Calif May 16 The California Horse Racing Board announced late yesterday the resignation of Claude Buchanan as its secretary Buchanan had been in the service of the board for 13 years He had been anxious for some years to re ¬ tire from the arduous duties of the position and it was with reluctance and regret that the board finally accepted his resignation However he will stay in the sport in some other capacity capacityThe The board appointed Alfred B Fiske to succeed Buchanan Fiske has been as ¬ sociated with the racing board in Cali ¬ fornia since 1935 and brings to his posi ¬ tion an extensive knowledge of the sport He was formerly chief investigator a post which will now be filled by Richard Sagal
