THE JERSEY BOY CASE CASEPHILADELPHIA PHILADELPHIA PA January 10 There was much rumor and a betsoff Betts decision over Jersey Boys win of the first race at Barksdale Barks today The horse was carded as owned by the Chatham stable and a bay gelding 4 by Chatham Miss Murray He was heavily played at post time and the officials investigated the action of the race and the actors Noone None appeared to claim the horse but a colored man who claimed that the horse was given to him last Saturday for wages due The money bet on the race was returned The investigation will be continued Jersey Boy does not figure in the stud book though its supplement of 1896 gives among the produce of mares a bay filly by Chatham Miss Murray
