Electric Batteries Arthur Whites Health HealthHOT Health HOT SPRINGS AEK AK January 22 1898 EDITOR RACING FORM FORMIn Forming In regard to the article in your issue of yester ester ¬ day as to the use of electrical appliances on race horses perhaps you have overlooked the practical trials given on East St Louis race track some years since sinceThe sincere The association there being of your opinion as to the use of batteries permitted them when the term with the battery appeared opposite the jockeys name on bookmakers slates slatesIt latest It was found however that while the speed of a horse was increased sometimes the jockey would not use the battery to all appearances especially if the price was vpry pry short The public would not bet on one of the battery horses unless the announcement was posted and at times such horses as favorites wore so disgracefully beaten and the running so atro astron ¬ ciously piously irregular the association revoked the use fraudIt fraud of electricity as it lead to fraud It may interest you to know as a matter of news that my son Arthur White has been at my home St Louis for over two months with con ¬ sumption gumption After a years sickness the disease is in the secondary stage as yet without lung cava ties Though he has not much strength he gets about a few hours daily We are soon to send him to El Paso Texas for a three months stay and are hopeful that he will improve there where so many consumptives do well or become cured It may be necessary for him to live there alto ¬ gether ether He is looking about as well as when in Chicago and we have as much confidence in his restoration to health as can bo had ip this disease Yours trulyKEITH truly truly KEITH WHITE
