GRIFFIN OFF TO BENNINGS. H. T. Griffin shipped his stable to Washington last Monday right from New Orleans. The ex-jockey-owner believes that the coming meeting at Bennings will be the best ever held at the track, and he wants to get his big string on the grounds early in order that the horses may have got over the effects of the long trip before the meeting begins. He will take nineteen horses back east with him. In addition to his Derby candidates, Embarrassment and Jove, he has four three-year-olds, including Princess Tu-lane, which is owned by Klaw and Erlangers local manager, W. H. Rowles.
