SPORT OF POOR QUALITY AT LATONIA. Cheap Horses, Bad Track and Straggling Finishes — Lee Has a Bad Day. Cincinnati. .. June 13. The racing at Latonla today was general]] unsatisfactory. The Hack was in bad condition, the jockeys reporting that there an- many boles, causing their mounts to stumble frequently. The fields were made up of horse* of the cheaper sort and the finishes in the main were of the straggling kind. There was much bumping. Interference ami rough riding. Lady Carol, which finished second in the second race, interfered with Laeaehe in the stretch and was disqualified. Dunvegan ai the start of the fifth race bolted into Waldorf Belle and the chances of lioth were ruined. Jockey Traeman was lectured by the judges foe permitting Roger s. to bump Beudlgo when the latter horse seemed to have a chance to overhaul Qttagga in the last race. The followers of Jockey J. Lee, and tiny arc legion just now. suffered heavy losses when he was beaten, on four odds-ou favorites. The public seesaa to be in a mood to accept anything offered by the bookmakers against the horses Lee rides Balla and Young Stevens wire Lees winning mounts. The latter horse was purchased by Charles Bloss from the late H. J. Berry last year for o. Jockey A. Brown left tonight for Buffalo to ride Barney Schrciliers horses at KenUwortk Park. Jockey Hdgeaen was fined 825 for disobedience at the |Hist in the first race. Notices were posted today warning all owners against harboring at the track any person not in good standing on the turf.
