MORE SUSPENSIONS AT OAKLAND. Oakland. Cal.. June IS. — The stewards announced the suspension of C. Buxton and S. Webb, trainer and foreman respectively for the 1-Teur de Lis sta We. pending an investigation into the erratic behavior of the mare Briers in the third race liere today. The usually well behaved old campaigner ran awav with Buxton, her diminutive rider, when parading to the post and was with difficulty brought back to the starter. A veterinary surge... was instructed to examine Briers for evidences of drugs. Jockey L". Lynch also incurred the displeasure of the officials by indulging in too pronounced wait ing tactics on Optician in the last race, and was suspended indefinitely. The heavy downpour of the morning rendered the track exceedingly muddy, but the weather ibis afternoon was bet and a good off day card attracted a big crowd. T. H. Ryan Is making preparation for the ship inent of True Winy to Latouia to run in the Queen I City Handicap.
