ANENT THE BEDWELL CASE Lexington Ky December 30 At the recent meeting of the Kentucky State Racing Commission a letter from II G Bedwelt to chairman K FCIay was read It asked that the Bcdwell horses be rein ¬ stated so that their owner could sell them for their full value Under the present rules of the commis ¬ sion horses lielonging to an owner who is ruled off us iMr Bedwell wias are also ruled off the turf and therefore the commission is unable to grant Mr Bcdwclls request without changing the rules While there is practically no doubt that If Mr Bedwelt sold the horses to bona fide purchasers In good stand ¬ ing they would be reinstated as a courtesy a change In the n les by which Iwrses could readily be trans ferred i Miiinally from the hands of a ruledflft owner HI Id so materially lessen the pnnishr4etit and aflTorl such chance Tor fraud that the cooiiais sion did lot take up the question It Is pretty well agreed a uong the mcml ers of the commission that nothing vill be done in the Bedwell case until he lias first obtained the recommendation of Judge Charles F Price who ruled liiin off
