ENDURANCE STAKES TO BE RICH RACE Louisville Ky May 17 The Kentucky State Racing Commission with the entire membership present consisting of Messrs Milton Young J N Camden George J Long Charles F Grainger amU T H Tallxt met today and awarded the Kentucky Endurance Stakes four miles to Churchill Downs on the New Louisville Jockey Clubs bid of 10000 added The Douglas Park management submitted a bid of 8500 for the race These were the only two bids made Last year the race had 7500 added while the year previous when it was run for the first time 3000 was the amount of the added money The condition of the race will supposedly 1 the same as formerly as the commission made no recommendations for any changes The division of the purse money was also left to the discretion of the Churchill Downs management The 1000 gold cup donated to the winner of the race by the Commission will again be a feature of the race raceThe The members of the Commission also approved the apixdntment of J T Ireland as patrol judge at Churchill Downs He will also serve at Douglas
