BORGO began slowly, but moved up steadily and slipped through on The inside after having saved ground on all turns and just lasted long enough to outstay BOXER. The latter raced in close, pursuit of NORSE KING to the stretch turn, where he caine wide and lost ground, but came again at the end.. NORSE KING showed much speed in pacemaking for the lirst half, but bolted to the outside when entering the homestretch and may have lost the race by it. BRIAN BORU ran moderately well only. HENRY HUTCHISON was oir slowly, but closed a big gap and, finishing gamely, would have won in a few more strides. HUDAS BROTHER showed the most early speed and set a good pace to the stretch, but tired badly in tho Jast sixteenth. PATTY REGAN closed a big gap. BALFRON finished fast. THORNH1LL. after racing under restraint for the lirst half, finished with a lelated rush and should have won. UNDAUNTED finished gamely and outstayed PRAIRIE in the final drive. ARMAMENT set the early pace and came again after making a wide turn into the homestretch and finished wearing the winner down. GLINT raced forwardly throughout, but tired ir. the final drive. MANASSEH was poorly ridden and, after being repeatedly pocketed and cut off, was finally taken wide when entering the homestretch. The winner was entered for ,000; no bid. ROSCOE GOOSE, after racing in close pursuit of the early pacemaker, moved up rapidly on the turn out of the backstretch and, taking a small lead in the stretch, hung on gamely in the final drive. ANXIETY Kin well and, finishing resolutely, stood a hard drive to outstay DEVILTRY. The latter began slowlv, but closed a big gap and wouid have been second in another stride. VOLANT closed a gap and tred in the final quarter. RIVER KING finished well. SHREWSBURY tired after setting a good pace to the stretch. PEG and THRILL quit. NAPIER was a forward contender to the stretch turn, where lie came wide and lost ground. MYCENAE ran wel throughout. BEN UNCAS made up ground. KING RADFORD tired.
