LIBYAN SANDS BREAKS HAVANA RECORD. Runs Fast Mile and Fifty Yards at Oriental Park — Ladies Day Brings Out Big Crowd. Havana. Cuba. January Hi. — J. B. Goodmans Liberator showed a good performance in the three-quarters handicap at Oriental Iark this afternoon. whin he picked up 121 pounds and beat Bonnie Tess a half length in a driving fjni-h. There was a stiff wind blowing down the honi1 stretch, but despite this fact and the heavy weight he carried. Liberator ran the three-quarters in 1:12.-.. The third race furnished a sinew-straining finish, m which Senor Eizamas Wenonih came from behind and just managed to get up in time to beat Ii rrot by a no e. Her victory was due to Ambrose- strong finish. The race was a selling affair and Wenomih was boosted from 00 to ~. by R. Small, but was retained. Just as the barrier was sprung in the second race. Toisou dOr wheeled, crossing in front of I-orothy T. and Casco and forced their riders to pull up. The stable of Senor A. Lezama. whose horses are now trained by If. Daly, scored a double when Libyan Sand- won the fifth. The Rock Sand eolt is in particularly good form.
