AVESSIE B. began slowly, but gradually improved her position and finished fast. SADDLE AND BOOTS came through fast on the inside on the stretch turn and quit badly. PONGEE, greatly helped by the going, sprinted into an easy lead and won all the way as her rider pleased. OUR FLAG, away slowly, gained steadily after rounding the far turn and easily passed BUNGA BUCK in the stretch. BUNGA BUCK raced forwardly and being much used in racing GOLDEN SPHERE into defeat, tired, but outstayed PETRARCH in the final drive. GOLDEN SPHERE and KENTISH BOY ran poorly in the going and tired badly.
