CAPT W H WILLIAMS DEAD NEW YORK N Y May 5 Captain W H Williams dean of turf writers died at noon Friday at the home of his son Thomas B Williams 1154 East Eighteenth Street Brooklyn N Y Captain Williams was a Canadian by birth and was in his seventy ninth year He had devoted most of his life to newspaper work and was an authority on thoroughbred blood lines linesHe He was a member of the staff of the Detroit Free Press in his younger days and later editor of the Canadian Sportsman He also filled the office of sporting editor of the Toronto Globe and for fifteen years following was sporting ediior and dramatic critic of the TimesDemocrat in New Orleans His last employment was with the Morning Tele ¬ graph graphCaptain Captain Williams is survived by his widow and five children Harry M Williams Thomas B Williams John M Williams Mrs Ralph J Holmes and Mrs Gorge C Bullen
