WHEAT, on tbe outside to the stretch, ducked to the inside when taking command during the drive, bumped MEADOW DEW and drew dear. The latter worked her way forward steadily, suffered interference from the winner near the three-sixteenths post and then closed gamely after recovering. FAST TEMPO assumed command at once, made the pace to the stretch, then tired. ROSE RED could not threaten and had no mishaps. FLY THE COOP tired. GLORIOUS SEC forced the pace ot the stretch, then gave way. FARAWAY ISLAND had brief early speed. LADY, never r far back during the first three furlongs, responded readily when set down for the drive but could not t menace the winner, just lasting to withstand BLUE GYP. The latter raced evenly to the stretch but could i not threaten when hard ridden thereafter. WOODMERE was outrun. ARTENA raced greenly. SIS ROSIE S never was dangerous. ERIC KNIGHT assumed command at once, held a clear lead entering the stretch and continued resolutely, but was unable to withstand the winner. CAB SIR had no excuses. The latter, outrun and on the outside to the final quarter mile, closed fast under punishment. DOUBLE FEATURE forced the pace to the final furlong, then tired. BOMB SIGHT had no excuses.
