OFF AT 4:13 EASTERN WAR TIME. Start eood from sud gate. Won ridden out; second and third driving. POLYNESIAN, off well and taken to the inside after assuming command, was well rated while setting the pace, turned back a challenge by THE DOGE enterine the stretch, then drew clear while being ridden out. HOOP JR. broke alertly, raced in the first flight position throughout, tired slightly right at the end and. came out of the race decidedly lame. DARBY DIEPPE was unhurried while lacking speed early, saved eround while moving into serious contention and continued on gamely to the end. THE DOGE, sent into the runner up position early, was well snugged behind the leader, made a game challenge nearing the eighth post, but faltered slightly thereafter. PAVOT was eased back when in close quarters on the in-ide early, swung to the outside and then was bothered slightly when caiijht behind THE DOGE in the early stretch. SEA SWALLOW was within striking distance early, but failed to rallv. ALEXIS was unable to better his position. ADONIS dropped back after a half. BOBANET showed a fair race for the first mvle.
