IDEAL PARKS GOOD START STARTThe Startle The new Ideal Park Wisconsin track opened for a fall meeting of some eighty days yester ester ¬ day It is a good track and a safe track When the footing settles and binds under hoof boats the course will be fast The buildings are roomy comfortable and good looking When finished they will be handsome The establish ¬ ment meant is a marvel considering what it was three veeks Weeks ago and what it is today Some 4000 peo peon ¬ ple pale went to the track and saw a really good afternoons racing All the finishes wore close and full of contention Then too the best horses were in front The fields were unusually good for a first day at a new course Then too the results were formful forkful The three first favor ¬ ites bites won and caused the small ring of seven books some pain The last three saw betting choices beaten by horses that might resonably reasonably be expected to beat them The ring will be stronger Monday The books drew in for but one day A new drawing will be held Monday The stand is oddly situated not being on the same angle with the judges consequenlly consequently there may be a great deal of dis dais ¬ satisfaction among the public about the judges decision on close finishes There was consider ¬ able noise about the decision in the last race It was out of line Eyes on a direct line which the judges could plainly see that Pinkey Pinkeye Potter was beaten by a long head headThe heathen The Ideal Park hadicap handicap was of course the feature of the day It furnished a sharp contest J E Cushings Cushing Sunburst winning by a narrow margin from Merry Mon ¬ arch Caywoods Cawed fit ish dish on the winner was powerful and deserves credit He also rode a perfect race on Canewood Lancewood defeating the favor ¬ ite bite Service on the post by a nose noseThe unsheathe The train service whilo while not up to expectation was good and the crowd was well satisfied Within a few days it will grow better and roach promise a special train ride from Chicago in fifty minutes through a pretty country
