NEWPORTS NEWPORT SPRING MEETING The racing at the Queen City Jockey Clubs track at Newport Ky this year was clean and healthy It suited horsemen too its popularity was in line with that of Secretary J Gratz Graft Hanly Hanky who stands as keenly in favor as any American racing official in harness Hanlys Analyst keen and up to date His race conditions too were of that kind and suited horsemen The Queen City track will open the OhioKentucky season of 1897 with a fortyfive fortified days meeting to begin April 1 There will be a select and com monsensible nonsensical array of stakes for the Newport Spring meeting They will be built on present lines and will close about January 15
