MISSOURIS RACING LAW ST Louis Mo March 22 The Missouri rac ¬ ing bill is certain to become a law It has passed both houses and is sure of Gov Stephens signature It gives ninety days of racing to each track and prohibits foreign pooling and poolrooms But it does not go into effect until ninety days after it is made complete by the governors signature Consequently the Mis ¬ souri poolrooms will run until the end of Juno Tho poolroom men think that in the light of re ¬ cant decisions by the Missouri Courts the bill is unconstitutional and will test it itThe The measure does away with night racing and prohibits over 90 days of racing at any one track Bookmakers are to be licensed at the rate of SI per day and the entire regulation of the sport is placed in the control of a State Racing Commission to consist of the Governor State Treasurer ami State Auditor The latter is authorized to app int deputies to collect the tax from the bookmakers bookmakersThere There is already talk of another mile track being constructed in St Louis but nothing de ¬ finite has developed in connection with the matter as yet
