GOOD SPORT AT FORSYTH FORSYTHFriday Friday was damp and disagreeable and the Forsyth track was a so i of mud Still a crowd of medium size was out to see five well contested events Two cracking good finishes came out of the second and third races racesThe The second was a three and onehalf furlong dash for maiden twoyearolds and nine good looking youngsters went to the post D M Hogai s Morello Clarissa colt Cherry Bounce II was favorite backed from 3 to 1 to 7 to 5 He could not win for his backers but certainly gave them a good run for their money and had the race been a sixteenth farther he could not have lost The winner turned up in Scott New man who was bred and is owned by Dave Wal ¬ do He is a big little fellow by John Henry out of Summer Time and showed a liking for the mud J E Cushings Jim Gore youngster Knowles would have won had he been better ridden but Sheedy his rider was extremely lucky in holding on the last sixteenth sixteenthFred Fred Fosters old horse Sullross heavily play ¬ ed by his partylanded the third by a narro w mar ¬ gin from Selden and Freddie L T Barrett rode the Foster horse and handled him well He placed him well dqwn the back stretch and was a great help when the final pinch came At the head of the stretch Sullross Selden and Freddie L T were on almost even terms and all hard at it At the sixteenth pole it looked as though Freddie L T would win but he faltered under punishment and swerved a bit interfering a trifle with Seldon This cost him the race and also helped the Foster horse to win as Selden seemed full of running at the end endJames James R Hand had his filly Ida Wagner in a soft spot in the opening event and backing her from 5 to 1 down to 3 to 1 she won mildly driven The Cella Sippy stable were very active in the days action their handsome brother to Liazzarone Whirlaway winning his race like a gentleman and Siegfried backed from 4 to 1 to almost off the boards outgamed the unseasoned Uncas and won the last race by a scant length lengthJockey Jockey H Martin was at Forsyth yesterday He is on his way East to join Dave Gideons stable He will remain here a few days and may be seen in the saddle today
