NOTES OF THE TURF TURFContracts Contracts were made a few days ago by the Fort Erie Jockey Club for the erection of a grand stand stables and the necessary grading at its new track at Fort Erie on the Canadian aide of the Niagara opposite Buffalo N Y James Stewart Co of St Louis will build the stand which will be of iron and steel throughout The contracts involve an expendi ¬ ture of over 150000 and everything is to bo in readiness for use in 60 days daysAs As is reasonable and in lino with public desire when available Louisville Latonia and Oakley declares to treat bookmakers in the same old way The mntuel and block systems are well enough when necessary but not otherwise otherwisePhil Phil Gilman is to start at the spring mooting of the Hamilton Out Jockey Club
